Subject: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: GUEST,John Hudson Date: 19 Aug 06 - 12:40 PM I'v just heard that the planned mini-fest due to take place at knockholt in kent on Setember 8th - 10th has been cancelled. There is nothing on the folkmob.com site. will it be back next year? Kit and me were looking forward to this. |

Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: Richard Bridge Date: 19 Aug 06 - 07:48 PM Shitshitshitshit. I have just confirmed that will go to Deal secure in the belief that Knockholt was the weekend before. That is a MAJOR bummer. |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: The Barden of England Date: 20 Aug 06 - 06:08 AM At the summer camp I did mention that one date would clash with Deal, but it could be that it's not available for the previous weekend. Bit of a bummer all the same as I was looking forward to going, but now can't. John Barden |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: Richard Bridge Date: 28 Aug 06 - 10:06 AM I am hoping to be able to drive up and kip in the back of the mothership (aka the Ark Royal, my new old volvo) Thursday night, up early, work half of Friday, go to Deal. Who else is likely to be there Thursday? |

Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: bob dylan Date: 03 Sep 06 - 12:59 PM Well I am glad that you can make it woodsie. I have already booked my flight to the UK to attend. I have always wanted to meet the great Dave Kenningham and taste one of his world reknowned sausages. |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: Girl Friday Date: 03 Sep 06 - 06:25 PM I've just found this thread. I've told Mr Zimmerman he HAS TO BE THERE because Tone Deaf Leopard will be there from Wednesday. So we'll be there for a jam Richard. Have you written that song about singing and dancing round the fire yet? |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: Richard Bridge Date: 03 Sep 06 - 06:29 PM I will only be there on the Thursday, if at all. Deal Shanty Fest. I have given Argent's "Dance in the Smoke" further thought, and am not yet happy with any versifications. Would any 'catters like to write another couple of verses for the song? I reserve the right, of course, not to sing them.... |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: Girl Friday Date: 04 Sep 06 - 05:36 PM Should you be there, we have written a little number that you might enjoy playing your mandolin to. Can you play "Pinball Wizard?" |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: GUEST,Geraldine The Goat Date: 04 Sep 06 - 05:38 PM I hope Richard comes. I will keep a patch of grass warm for him next to the sheep. |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: Girl Friday Date: 06 Sep 06 - 08:05 PM Sad news today at Folkmob. Jenny Radford died yesterday. The funeral will be next Thursday, September 14th, one o clock at Falconwood Crem. Most of the regulars will be going, and to the wake that afternoon at the Tudor Barn. Some of us will be at Knockholt from Wednesday, others delaying their arrival to Thursday or Friday. Len and I will camp from Wednesday, but go to the funeral via Orpington. Anyone else arriving Wednesday? |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: bob dylan Date: 07 Sep 06 - 01:24 AM I'll be there Weds |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: GUEST,sue forde Date: 09 Sep 06 - 05:47 AM There is a slight change of plan concerning Jenny's cremation, instead of taking place at falconwood as we originally thought it will be at Lewisham crematorium, Verdant Lane, London SE6, at 1.00pm Thursday 14 September. This will be followed by a celebratory wake at The Tudor Barn, Well Hall Road, Eltham from 2.00pm. Sorry for the confusion Sue |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: Richard Bridge Date: 09 Sep 06 - 02:02 PM Er- apologies for the flippancy but since Jim nearly cremated himself one year on teh bonfire can't we get special permission to use that? |

Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: Richard Bridge Date: 12 Sep 06 - 03:11 AM I have tents as well, but it's not worth putting one up just for a night, given the size of the load bed of the mother ship |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: woodsie Date: 12 Sep 06 - 06:25 AM Shame about that Richard old chap. If the original date had been adhered to, we would have had the good weather as well. (I won't say "told you so") Hope to see you and John at next June. Meanwhile I hope to get down to one of your Upper Stoat bashes. |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: Richard Bridge Date: 12 Sep 06 - 07:31 AM One night in the mothership won't hurt, and if I bring a canoe I can paddle away later.... It's LOWER stoat. Pete and Val live in UPPAH Stoat where they have a nice hice! But it would be nice to see you. |

Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: GUEST,Richard Bridge Date: 14 Sep 06 - 10:21 AM I have major computer problems (on another computer at the moment) which I HAVE to get sorted so that loks like me no-showing at Knockers tonite. Anyone who is going but has not yet gone, please pass on my apologies (unless I manifest which seems VERY unlikely). |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: Richard Bridge Date: 15 Sep 06 - 06:06 AM For those who want to know, data back by 2am, network up this morning! |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: melodeonboy Date: 15 Sep 06 - 12:25 PM Sorry, my lucky lads; I won't be able to make it. A recording session and a rearranged stag night (not at the same time; in case you were going to ask!) have put the kibosh on it. Have a good time and I hope to see you all sooner rather than later. |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: Richard Bridge Date: 17 Sep 06 - 01:56 PM So, what did I miss? |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: GUEST,woodsie Date: 17 Sep 06 - 03:44 PM It was excellent - Capella, TDL, Bassic, Shanty Jim, Essex Girl, Tudor Barn Owls, FolkMob and special Guest Jops from Saffron Walden. Great night on Saturday all well behaved as no lager louts or mad nurses were invited this time! |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: Richard Bridge Date: 17 Sep 06 - 07:13 PM Bum, and I missed it! |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: Girl Friday Date: 17 Sep 06 - 08:15 PM Yep. Saturday was great. Woodsie has glossed over the other events... mega dose of thunderstorms, really spectacular, thick fog, or low cloud, whole flock of sheep doing what sheep do best on Thursday morning... all over the campsite.... then there's the plague of crane flies.... high winds.... marquee blown across field... no interest in workshop... more interest in pub..... never mind.... T.DL. found much material for new songs. |
Subject: RE: Autumn Knockholt 2006 From: GUEST,Geraldine The Goat Date: 17 Sep 06 - 08:56 PM Sorry you had problems Richard. I didn't let you down love. There were about 50 of your wooly friends waiting for your arrival. I got them to all come into the folkmob field. Too baaaaaaa..ad. Love Gerri |
