Subject: Lyr Add: SOMETIMES SHE FORGETS (Steve Earle) From: Janie Date: 22 Aug 06 - 12:07 AM Sometimes She Forgets (Steve Earle) If you see her out tonight And she tells you it's just the lights That bring her here and not her loneliness That's what she says but sometimes she forgets If she tells you she don't need a man She's had all the comfort she can stand You'd best believe every word she says But don't give up 'cause sometimes she forgets Sometimes she forgets that not too long ago she swore She wasn't gonna let her heart be broken anymore So now she keeps it locked away It grows colder every day And it won't warm to any man's caress That's what she says but sometimes she forgets Sometimes she forgets that not too long ago she swore She wasn't gonna let her heart be broken anymore Hey now don't give up 'cause sometimes she forgets |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: sometimes she forgets...by?Steve Earl From: Joe Offer Date: 22 Aug 06 - 12:07 AM Not likely you'll find the tune, but click here to find lyrics and chords on Cowpie. Written by Steve Earle, also recorded by Travis Tritt. I won't post it because it's definitely not folk. -Joe- |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: sometimes she forgets...by?Steve Earl From: Joe Offer Date: 22 Aug 06 - 01:40 AM Well, heck, if it's a pop song of no historic significance, why post it at Mudcat? It's not a horrible thing to post the lyrics, and I wouldn't have posted anything at all if I had seen Janie's post. We posted at the same time. You can click the Cowpie link I posted and get the song - and chords. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: sometimes she forgets...by?Steve Earl From: open mike Date: 22 Aug 06 - 02:22 AM i would not call steve earle "of no significance" oh the serendipity of it all thanks for all you do here. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: sometimes she forgets...by?Steve Earle? From: Den Date: 22 Aug 06 - 03:35 PM I'd never in a million years refer to it as a pop song either. It has more of an old timey, country bluesy feel. |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: sometimes she forgets...by?Steve Earle? From: GUEST,Hootenanny Date: 22 Aug 06 - 06:21 PM I'm with Joe, I don't think he called Steve Earle "of no significance" the song is not of historic importance and is readily available on other sites which he has generously pointed out. I like the song and sing it but won't claim it to be something that it isn't. It certainly does not have an old timey feel. If I was looking for a label then I guess Honky Tonk would fit it better and there ain't nuthin' wrong with that. |
