Anyone going? I am. I have heard how great it is for many years but haven't been before. It is in eastern Washington and it is always either too icy or too hot for me to actually cross the mountains...except for two weeks in May and two weeks in September and what do you know...this is the week. Just google it and if you have any way of getting there, it comes highly recommended. I am sharing a room with one woman at a nearby motel, but if another female wants to share a room, I think we could do that if we could get a rollaway and the other woman has volunteered to use that. Festival is free, I believe. On a park on the Columbia River. mg

MAG will be there for sure. She's emceeing one of the stages. If I can get away for a bit I'm going to head over too. I haven't even had time to look up the schedule for the weekend, so I'm not sure what day I'm going yet. It's a terrific festival, you'll have a blast.

I've been enjoying Isla Ross and Alan Kausal at several Seattle gatherings over the last few months. I know they are performing at this festival, though I don't know when. Isla is a versatile fiddler, guitarist and singer, and Alan plays a mean guitar and is one hell of singer. Sometimes they play as a trio or a quartet. CHEERS, Bob(deckman)Nelson

I'll be emceeing at the singer-songwriter stage, also known as the west stage.

Scuttlebutt is that the selection committee got so many excellent applications they couldn't take them all. They DID extend each stage one set.

Three Rivers (Folklife Society) will have buttons, shirts for sale.

The Saturday evening concert has a charge, as does the Sunday evening contra dance.

It is indeed a gem of a festival on the shores of the Columbia River.

I look forward to it every year.

I found a massage therapist who is open on Saturday and takes several insurance plans and is close to the festival. BC me at mgarvey@wsu.edu if you want information. Also, I have to combine this with a shopping experience. I realize not everyone goes to Richland for shopping delight but it is all relative. Is there a Lowe's near the festival? mg
