Today I received my monthly sewing magazine for September. It's packed full of ideas for cards, presents, tree decorations and pictures of cute elephants in santa hats, so it must be time for:...


The Secret Santa Threads 2006!

Usual rules apply with a couple of additions.

1) Gift around £10 or US$15 or local equivalent. UK people, remember the postage rates have gone all funny... size IS important! Gift/s can be bought, made, spawned, whatever, just so long as it doesn't contravene any local arms laws or is classed as germ warfare (no sweaty socks please - we had enough trouble in 2004)!

2) Send me your POSTAL address by PM if you wish to receive
   (eventually) a gift from a Secret Santa.

3) TELL ME in your PM if you do NOT want an overseas Santee.

4) I am in charge, but I'm not responsible.

Maybe we can think up some new questions, psychometric testing, or whatever for Santees? We've had the same ones a few years running. I'd offer, but I don't think I'm very good at that sort of thing.

I've had a lovely Santa the last couple of years (same person, actually) and had some good fun. Roll on 2006.

And, for whoever's going to say it, no - it isn't too early. Particularly if you get an overseas Santee and/or you get someone who's slow in posting their interests.

You can count me in too - PM on its way. I actually like my Santee to be from overseas - makes it more interesting! Yeah, I know the postage is more, but it's worth it - and it's great to get a parcel with a far-away postmark on it! Of course, with me being in Oz, it's not hard to match me up with someone far away ;-)

Sandra, that's great news! Does this mean you won't need me to sit fanning you till my arms drop off? *grin*

Such as? I've reviewed the questions and I'm hard pressed to think of anything else we could add that would be very informative and/or helpful....

LtS... Congrats on deciding to shoulder this task again this year.... I know you'd talked about giving it up after last year.... I like your new mantra "I am in charge, but I'm not responsible"... I plan to steal that for the Online SS's I run.

Liz, what is your Cut Off date this year? Might be useful to know, to chivvy people along.

Do we have a Joe or Joe Clone to thank for keeping this in the music section (tho' it isn't)? I know that some people missed the deadline because they didn't think to look below the line.

Clinton, I know that the information is pretty well covered in the 'old' questions. I just thought that a third (or is it fourth?) year with the same old same old might suggest a bit of freshenin' up is required. Don't really mind one way or t'other as we're free to set up our hints as we feel fit. Just so long as everyone DOES put up hints, and contructive ones at that.

I'm going to be cutting off things at the end of September so hopefully you should get your Santees by October 1st, plenty of time to organise for the Getaway Swapmeet.

Jacqui - I hope you're taking care of the Dave Bryant Memorial Lobster.... we've not been able to find anything to replace him so far... but we're trying!
