get "full version" PDFs, burn 'em to a CD or DVD ...label 'em just like a book on the shelf....or print 'em if you've a mind to.

(some books show you only the text you search for, and may be still under copyright)

Oh gosh - even more stuff for me to get lost in on the internet! I have pulled up several entire books (for example "The Romany Rye") but ended up buying them anyway - it get's tedious reading over the internet. I hadn't thought of pulling up folk songs or ballads, though!

Marvellous. Just read the relevant section in The British Folk Revival 1944 to 2002which explains the rift between Karl Dallas and Eric Winter v The Kennedys which I'd not previously understood fully.

But guess what advertising comes up on each page? Yes, that sodding 'Free Seth Lakeperson' ever-so-annoying pop-up again.

Google has just introduced pdf full text versions and search of out of print books. I tested it out for phrases like 'folk songs' and 'music' and found it to be a treasure. Plenty of stuff from the 19th century. No doubt more will be added over time.

Try it! Select Google >> More >> Book Search
