Well, the forecast seems to say we will need wetsuits to play or dance at the Faversham Hop Fest this weekend 1st Sept.

Now how am I expected to keep a banjo-mandolin with a skin head in tune at about 150% humidity?

Will any other catters be there?

I'll only be there for the Chris Wood concert on the Friday as I'm tied up the rest of the weekend.

I suggest leaving your painter slack, as the tide seems likely to come in.....

Who are you tied up to Kevin? Would love to make Faversham but I am in the middle of having a new kitchen fitted - mainly by myself.

Tied up sounds very interesting. Can anyone join in? Tied up at an underwater Hop Festival may not be so enjoyable however. So I take your point.

My spies have revealed all - Shirtmurderer was under an entirely different liquid, at the Maidstone Beer Festival! Growler and Little Legs were helping.

Growler, people were singing the wrong words to your Michael Jackson song, I need to learn the correct ones so as to be able to put them right.

As to Michael Fish, while it did indeed piss down some of the time, the more interesting forces of nature at Faversham were the wind which blew the Bishop Gundulfs marquee away (the other Richard at the baked beans again) and the love of a good man for a good woman (not) which disturbed the entire campsite on Sat nite at about 2 am with words that would make a guaranteed gansta rap hit - culminating (it is alleged) with a person of gender who had been threatening to use a car as a weapon being escorted away in handcuffs by the noble boys in blue. The participants are thought not to have ben associated with any side.

Other than that a good time was had by all, and we particularly suspect one tall skinny musician last seen going into town for breakfast on Sunday morning, if you know what I am implying).

Yes, the rain was far too wet yesterday. By the time we arrived, and got cups of tea in the Legion, The Bear was rammo! How do you all suffer the lack of oxygen? Strolled down to The Three Tuns for a nice lunch, and the alleged happening in the garden. Time passed, nothing happened. A couple arrived (Bob and Rosie) We started our own session in the bar. This made a certain G Newton fairly happy. He said noone available to run the garden thing. They only needed to ask! It was a bit wet though, and would have made all the poetry soggy. On Bob's reccomendation we went back to the Bull, but it was still fairly rammo and airless by 7 p.m. so we had a very nice meal in Jadz. After that we made our way to The Chimney Boy for Ed and Norm. Oh no, cancelled due to complaint about noise. On spotting our instruments they said they'd like us to play, which we duly did for about an hour. We got a free drink . What with all that walking, eating, and singing and playing, we were too tired to go out today."Thank God" I hear you say.

GF, I was told that the Railway was good on Sat, but every time I passed, various melodions some in very aquatic tuning were sounding like Concorde warming up (an octave down).

However Slats said he sang for hours there Sat PM without a musical instrument in sight. He of course excepted his 12, others differ.

After fun with the BG marquee (or kite if you prefer) I could not summon up the will to battle with the elements but again I am told there was a nice session in the pub nearest the campsite the name of which I forget. Certainly the Fri there was fun, with some of the cleaner versions of "Yogi Bear" apparent. Later that night a young lady played us some of the ruder lyrics on her mobile phone. Quite a different version of the camem-camem-bert verse!

Sun PM BG was singing in the Railway and it seemed to be popular.

Rain? What rain?

It was good to be making a rare appearance with the Fezheads on Saturday at The Sun. Good set of lads and serious drinkers! All that, and half the team were performing simultaneously at Twickenham.
