Subject: Ewan MacColl/Lang A' Growing From: Fred McCormick Date: 03 Sep 06 - 05:35 AM I'm trying to trace recordings of Ewan MacColl singing Lang A-Growing; specifcally, the version he got from his mother, which starts "The trees they are ivied, the leaves they are green". To date I've found nothing subsequent to a 1956 recording he made for Riverside in New York. Nothing in Topic, or Folkways, or The Long Harvest, or any of the other Argo LPs I've got. Can anybody help ? |

Vol.2, Vanguard VSD 2088, LP (1961), cut #B.03 [1960] I do not know that that is the specific song you seek. Hopefully, the real researchers will get on this thread and do their stuff. Guys, where you at? |
