According to this he is still Vice President of the Musicians Protective Union.

shout out to Ron, we taught guitar together at Bill Hill Studios in the 70's   would be great to see you again. Will be in town over homecoming

I found this thread by accident while Googling something else. It seems to me a thread like this ought to be updated once every fifteen years or so.

I see Ron from time to time. He plays with the Iowa City band Mutiny In The Parlor and others. You can find "Mutiny" on Facebook. Ron is also Vice President of the Musicians Protective Union (AFM 450). Dennis Roseman, the second one to post in this thread is a Trustee of AFM 450.

well, he's still here in Iowa city we have jam session at the Mill in Iowa City and he's there most Tuesday nights.

He performs with several groups/individuals but not regularly that I know of.

Does anybody have any up to date information about Ron Hillis? -He was a great Acoustic lead guitar and wonderful blues mandolinist based out of Iowa City i think in the early 80's --Where is he now? Did he ever record anything?
