English, Rhiannon. Not likely to be a mudcat gathering. It is a private party so basically if you haven't been invited I'm afraid you aren't coming. It is not an open invitation but if you are lucky enough to be a guest it is a great event. As it is not an open event this is probably not the place to be discussing it.

I guess I can't see the logic in deleting the thread, just because it's a private event. Maybe some music or something happened there, that the rest of us would like to know about.
I guess I figure that if people don't want to talk about it, they shouldn't talk about it.

Hi Joe, this is a private party given by my friend chris, as long as no one gives directions to the event it should be ok. Its not a public event - a free for all. Its a bit like holding a party in your home, ther is a limit to the number of people you can accommodate. I hope this makes things clear.

I went along last year, not invited, and I was made very welcome and had an excellent time.

Did not think you had to be invited....you keep bragging about the invites and the tee-shirts - what about the video? you are the ones making a fuss which keeps pushing it back up to the top.

So the upshot is that private events are not allowed in the folk world and if they are discovered then it is imperative that they be invaded and perhaps spoiled and lost forever because we all feel it is not 'folkie'to have a private event!

But that is how many of the above posts read.

I am playing a ceilidh for a wedding aniversay this year if it becomes an annual event - should this become a public event too!

Please qualify the terms under whcih we can all do what we wish without fear of repercussions form teh folk mafia!

Yeah the privatness of it is the best bit.
Surely ppl can discuss and post pictures of the festival as long as they dont leave an address or discuss it elsewhere. I personally would love to see a windy bottom photo-album as it would make me feel much better.
The organiser is a great person, may I add, who has found my phone that I lost there, and then returned it to me.

Sadly, couldn't get there this year - last minute problem. I'm glad you all had a good time and I'll hope to join you next year.

Incidentally I understood the reason for it being an invitaton festival was simply because of the venue size restrictions, not because of any elitism.
