Im looking for the lyrics of this song which I heard sung at a trad session. Im not sure how it starts but one of the verses is:

He has a little stumpeeto
a (?) (?) stumpeeto
that works just as well
as his El Tel Morel
His El Tel Morel Tel Morero

can anyone help?

This might be one of the toughest ones yet. You don't have any other info on the song? Are you at all sure of the spelling? I am still checking but am getting no results.

Mick

Yes
This is a part of a variation of "The Gay Caballero"

There once was a Gay Caballero,
An exceedingly Gay Caballero,
And his pride and his joy was his El Tel Morell
His wonderful El Tel Morello

He went to a low down Casino,
An exceedingly low down Casino,
And with him he took his El Tel Morell,
His wonderful El Tel Morello

He met a low down senorita,
An exceeding low down senorita,
And to her he showed his El Tel Morell
His wonderful El Tel Morello

She show him her deep dark crevasso
An exceeding deep dark crevasso
And in it he put his El Tel Morell
His wonderful El Tel Morello

He caught a bad dose of diseaso
An exceeding bad dose of diseaso
Which played poor Hell with his El Tel Morell
His wonderful El Tel Morello

He went to a low down physician
An exceeding low down physician
Who whipped off the end of his El Tel Morell
His wonderful El Tel Morello

It left him a stubby stumpeeto
An exceedingly stubby stumpeeto
But it serves just as well as his El Tel Morell
His wonderfull El Tel Morello!

There are various other versions but this is the one I remember being sung at Scout Camps.

"A Gay Caballero" was written by Crumit and Lou Klein. See previous thread.
The messy parody by juvenile anon.
