Hey, it was all I could think of that had a pastoral setting, five lines, and something resembling a rhyme scheme. Anyway, this thread's far too obsessed with itself to care whether any particular poster's work is original or not.

That's nice of you, but I looked at the antiquity of the "speakers" more than their message, and lobbed back more ancient speakers but with a message from Sappho that scholars suggest was lost (for a while) in translation. They were all self-centered, but not so much so as your New Narcissus.
