I grew up in Winston-Salem and never heard about the murders until last week when someone loaned me the book to read. I couldnt believe what i was reading such a horrible thing that happened. Then i mapquest the cemetery and the farm that it happened on. It is only a few miles from where i work. I am very interested in this for some reason and i plan on visiting the cemetery very soon.

I borrowed the documentary from my sister a while back, and I finally got a chance to watch it earlier this evening.

I am 17, living in Greensboro. My dad's side of the family is related to Fannie Lawson. I found this interesting, but of course the history is puzzling and horrible.

I never got to read the book, but my sister used to own it as well. It was a very worn copy, pages had fallen out and now it is lost among all of her belongings..

I am planning to visit the family's graves in the near future. My grandmother went not long ago and took pictures, but I haven't seen them yet.

Sincerely,
Allyson Tesh

Hi, My name is Vickie Johnson and I too am very interested in the Lawson Murders. My Grandmother lived in Stokes County at this time, and her dad actually visited the house shortly after the murders. I have read White Christmas/Bloody Christmas and can't seem to forget the victims. They are in my mind constantly. I have been to the Browder Cemetery with my Grandmother and want to visit the site where the house stands. I am glad that the story will be put to film. Please let me know when I may purchase a copy of the dvd and cd.

Sincerely
Vickie Johnson

Dear friends,

Here is the exciting news that I have been holding back for a few months now!

So, pay attention! (Gonna have a pop quiz afterwards...lol)

There is a production company in this area where I live in North Carolina, that's producing a documentary about the story of the Charlie Lawson murders.

It's the story of a tragedy that took place, not far from our new home now, on Christmas day, 1929.

Here is a website that you can learn more about the story, etc.

(Just click on the tabs at the top of the page for all the info.)

http://bodproductions.com/

The documentary will help bring awareness to the domestic violence problem in our state. Proceeds from the sale of the DVD and CD will be donated to that agency!

I am playing supporting roles in the documentary, mainly because this production company discovered my stories in the archives of Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina! That's where all my TV news features "Blue Ridge Views" stories are stored now.

The DVD is going to be released on December 1 for the public to obtain.

There are also efforts being made to have it shown on a cable TV channel...maybe the history channel or PBS, etc.

I was also chosen to record the title song for the documentary and that part of the story took place over two weeks ago at a recording studio in Durham, NC.

I am really excited about this documentary and the fact that I am playing supporting roles in it.

I can remember when my mom use to sing to us kids at bedtime, "The Ballad of Charlie Lawson."

Now I have recorded the title song for the documentary and it really thrilled me to no end!

Anyway, I will give you all more info when the DVD is available, around December 1!

The CD single "The Ballad of Charlie Lawson, will be released on November 1st!

Both the DVD and CD will be available for purchase on the production company website!

bodproductions.com

But please know that I want you all to know about this and to obtain a copy of the DVD and CD, when it's available.

Sincerely,

Chuck Hemrick / AKA, tarheel
