a great writer/singer/performer/entertainer/showman

Marty has long been a favorite of mine...have a stack of his
records KNEE HIGH.. purt near everthing he recorded
and one he didnt. [exists only on a transcription for the
Armed Forces Network]

only saw Marty one time - back in 1978 at the OPRY - he rushed in from the local race track and closed the show, and what a show he gave!

INHO Marty was certainly one of the all time greats of country music.
he covered a wider range of music than anybody i know of

country/western/rock & roll/pop/hawaiian/south of the border
tunes
