My German/Irish grandfather from Indiana sang this tune to wake us up every single morning on his farm in Pennsylvania. I transcribed the lyrics from the Encarta '98 Encyclopedia rendition of this Old English folk tune.

Did I get it right? Is there any more to it?
"To one's early one mornin' at the break of the day...
All the cocks were a crowin' the farmer did say,...
"Come arise my good fellows. Arise with good will...
for your horses want somethin' their bellies to fill."

Singin' tu a rye, tu a rye, tu a rye aye."

Diane
