Subject: RE: Chord Req: Bonny Gateshead Lass From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 30 Sep 06 - 02:12 PM Conrad's tune is similar to, but not quite like the way you usually hear it sung (and indeed in one of the other threads on the song he requested the melody and then posted one with source as the mind of Conrad Bladey, which is the tune on his site I think). (It's as if parts of the tune are slowed down to half speed). The Bonny Gateshead Lass is more like it - ignore the 4 bar introduction. Here's a set of chords for the way I'd sing it, though you could use fewer changes(and they might alter if you don't sing it quite the same way; I wouldn't use exactly the same melody as the one I linked to above). (D7)I (G)warrant you've (D7)never (G)seen me (C)lass her (G)name I (D7)cannot (G)men-(D7)tion For (G)fear you'll (D7)gan and (G)tell 'er 'ow I like 'er (C)so I (D7)dee Well it's (C)just for lads and (G)lasses for to (C)whisper (Am)their af-(D7)fection The (G)bonniest (D7)lass in (G)Gateshead's bonnie face is (D7)bothering (G)me (x2) Mick |
