Well, we had a nice time. The weather was glorious, especially this morning. Wonderful wonderful music late last night -- the rest of the weekend we were sometimes short of musical critical mass but still very nice -- but when I left today since I had to work this p.m.....sea shanties in one corner of the property and gospel music down by the bayside, with all the oyster sheds and boats etc. in the background. Starry skies every night. Wonderful food....we finally found a wonderful camp member who can actually put out great breakfasts at a good time and speed..we always had one or the other but not both before.

I do recommend putting on these little camps, although they can drive you crazy not knowing who is coming...and there are always conflicts with other events...but they are such a great way of meeting new people from outside a small area...it is so nice to see new contacts being made, new songs being shared etc.

Even more than having a camp cook (people will always eat if you leave enough peanut butter and granola and taco sauce out) I recommend having an end of camp cleaner or two so people can relax until the last minute. My roommate did it this year and I left knowing the camp will be nice and clean and no worries. I also recommend having a place to donate your perishable food right after so you box it up and someone takes it to a family or food bank or whatever. Just up and out.

Also, always always take care of the vegetarians and give people an option of bringing their own food and cooking it there if they have allergies, religious rules etc....

Well, I about tore my hair out this year but it was great anyway. Next year, assuming the camp is available, I will just have to have more help with publicity. The rest of it is a snap. mg

Hi Mary,

I'm glad the camp was a success. If I ever retire, which I don't see happening, I would like to attend. Will you please PM me your private e-mail. I have some news for you. CHEERS, Bob(deckman)Nelson

Fantastic week end of music. THANK YOU Mary for all your efforts and time making this happen. You went on an errand about the time I left
and missed giving you a personal hug and thanks.
Sunnycamp 07.... I hope so.

Thanks Mary,
We also had to leave this morning without seeing you. But thanks for the fun weekend. And I don't know how you do that with the weather, but the coast (only just a half mile in) was totally fogged in as we drove down from Forks on the Olympic Peninsula, just about all the way down to the Long Beach Peninsula, but sunnycamp was sunny - amazing. And it was great sitting outside in the sun, looking across the bay and singing and playing some great music. And the food was good too.

Cheers, S. in Seattle

Sorry I missed you guys.   But, hey, it was sunny in San Diego, too. ;-D   Sounds like you had a great time, and I hope to join y'all next year.   Just let me know ASAP which weekend it will be. Oct. 1 will be on a Monday, so I'm guessing Sunny Camp will be the next weekend, but I know there are logistic things like when the camps are available.

Glad it went so well this year, even if small.

Genie
