Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: Bernard Date: 30 Oct 06 - 12:10 PM Make one up - such as FOLKCD 001 (etc). It ensures the composer/lyricist gets their royalties (where appropriate). That was what I was advised to do by the BBC when we used to do our live programme. |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: Mo the caller Date: 30 Oct 06 - 09:48 AM So what do you do with CDs with no number, Bernard. (I do the returns for our dance club)? |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: greg stephens Date: 29 Oct 06 - 12:13 PM I heard it on the Genevieve Tudor show(just to let you know you are getting through!) |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: Bernard Date: 29 Oct 06 - 06:27 AM You may be interested to know that Ali O'Brien and I are playing 'Over the Hills and Far Away' from 'Brunel's Kingdom' on 'Sounds of Folk' (Radio Britfolk), which should be online from Monday November 13th for a week. Can I just add, though, that the CD has no reference number, and the tracks have no times listed, which makes it awkward for radio presenters and PRS logging!! Such a pity, as it's an otherwise professional looking (and sounding) job, unlike some of the tatty CDRom offerings we are often sent! |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: kitchen piper Date: 29 Oct 06 - 06:05 AM Hello! I think you're MC was remembering Genevieve Tudors show where she interviewed Phil Beer and she played High Germany. :) Vicki |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: Chris Green Date: 11 Oct 06 - 10:03 AM Thanks Andy! I would myself but modesty forbids! |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: Andy Jackson Date: 10 Oct 06 - 07:33 PM Well isn't this the perfect time to ask the MH Prog to play Isambarde. I just have, using this thread as the excuse. Andy |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: Chris Green Date: 10 Oct 06 - 07:12 PM Graham, Scrump et al, you're right. Transpires that the MC had heard us on Mick Peat's show on BBC Derby and got confused. Ho-hum! Cheers everyone and sorry for the false alarm! Chris |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: Scrump Date: 10 Oct 06 - 04:07 AM I don't remember hearing Isambarde on there Chris - I'm pretty sure I would have noticed. But then I'm not 100% I heard the show in question (normally out at a folk club myself on a Wednesday so usually "listen again") - got a feeling I might not have heard the show in question, if it was 3 or 4 weeks ago. Maybe the rest of us could make sure MH plays an Isambarde track anyway, by sending him a request via the link above. Not sure if we should be encouraging that sort of thing though ;-) |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: GUEST,Graham Bradshaw Date: 10 Oct 06 - 03:52 AM Chris, The last time I had something played on Mike Harding ( a track from the wonderful Anglo International 3 CD set of anglo concertina playing), Smooth Ops emailed me in advance and notified me when and what they were going to play. I understand this is their normal practice. So..... as I assume you didn't get such notification, it is probably safe to assume that you weren't played. Unless, of course, they got you confused with another Kate Rusby track and emailed her instead! G |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: Chris Green Date: 09 Oct 06 - 06:16 AM Thanks Andy! Sadly we won't be at Banbury as Jude and I are playing in a pit orchestra that weekend and Em is gigging with the lovely Phil Beer. However the mighty Bedduth beckons and we'll be around all weekend! Cheers chris |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: Andy Jackson Date: 08 Oct 06 - 02:23 PM Hi Chris, try this for size. Contact the Mike Harding Show See you at Banbury?? Andy |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: Chris Green Date: 08 Oct 06 - 02:10 PM Not sure we've ever had anything to sell. Tim! GUEST, thanks for the Smooth Ops idea - is that Mike Harding's production company or something? If so, does any one have an email address? Cheers Chris |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: mandotim Date: 08 Oct 06 - 04:54 AM Will you still talk to us? You do realise, don't you, that the prevailing mores of this board mean that half the 'catters will fall at your feet and proclaim you as the next Kate Rusby, and the rest will harrumph and mutter about selling out! Hope to see you at Bedduth, Kate. Tim ;) |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: Mo the caller Date: 07 Oct 06 - 01:38 PM Will you get lots of performing rights cash? |
Subject: RE: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: GUEST Date: 07 Oct 06 - 12:35 PM Well, Last week it was all Ralph McTell and the week before it was a comedy show. Maybe it was the week before that, I am sure if you email Smooth Ops they will be able to help. |

Subject: Help! Isambarde on Mike Harding From: Chris Green Date: 06 Oct 06 - 05:14 PM Hi all We were doing a gig last night in Tewkesbury (UK) last night and the MC during his intro told the audience that we'd been played by Mike Harding on Radio 2 a couple of weeks ago. This was news to us (we're very gratified, by the way!) The point is that when we asked the MC about it afterwards he couldn't remember the name of the track that was played (so presumably it was a crap one!) Did anyone catch the show that week and if so can you remember the name of the track? I've tried the listen again facility and it times out a week after the show. If anyone did catch the show and can enlighten us, we'd be most grateful! Cheers Chris (of Isambarde) |
