Is it anything to do with the Jackie song?

... I'll get me coat (it was a waste of time taking it off really).

misconception on authorship of The Bridie Song, I have had an e-mail from Susie Malcolm and it was Jim and her who wrote it. I am now waiting for a copy of cassette or Cd that has Bridie songs on it LOL
thanks everyone for your comments

Chorus:
On Friday, I had a bridie.
On Saturday, I had a bridie.
On Sunday, I had a bridie.
On Monday I had a bridie
On Tuesday I had a bridie
On Wednesday I had a bridie.
On Thursday, it was the best day, I had 2 great big fat bridies!

Some folk like the cake they mak in Dundee
In Aiberdeen, they like their butteries.
And the Arbroathies, they like smokies
But in Forfar, we like bridies

I get invited to lots o' parties.
they gie me coke an' loads o' smarties
But that's nae guid, don't mean ti be rude,
But I only eat the one food.

School dinners are hard tae take
'cause they've banned the chips an' the chocolate cake.
And now we hae a salad bar,
But I want tae ken far the bridies are!

these are the words as I sang them (from memory) I will check with Scott next time I see him BJ

I,ve heard Scott sing it too, so please share out the words BeaJay.
(Forfar)Bridies have nothing to do with birdies; they're like a meat-filled pasty and very tasty!

There are words, Scrump:

With a little bit of this
And a little bit of that
And you shake your bum
Bum, bum, bum, bum

I don't think there are any words, it just goes something like:

Duh-duh-dudduh-dudduh-duhhh
Duh-duh-dudduh-dudduh-duhhh
Duh-duh-dudduh-dudduh-duhhh
Dah-dah-dah-dah
Duh-duh-dudduh-dudduh-duhhh
Duh-duh-dudduh-dudduh-duhhh
Duh-duh-dudduh-dudduh-duhhh
Dah-dah-dah-dah
(etc.)

... ah... misread the title... I'll get me coat.

Thank you Cindy and littlebrownwren, I have sent an e-mail to Susie Malcolm, no reply as yet.
I thought this would be a good song for a spot in a 'Doric Festival' gig LOL
Other good one is Porridge ( Get yer Oats in Bed ) I have lyrics for this one though.
thanks again, I am keeping my fingers crossed, that I hear from Susie.
Barbara

BeaJay - Sometime back Jim Malcolm and his wife, Susie, made a CD with a bridie theme. I believe Scott Gardiner is Jim's brother, so there is a good chance Scott's bridie song is on it (how many bridie songs can there be?). I don't think the CD is currently available - I read about it on a food and music thread on a Scottish music forum. If Susie doesn't have the lyrics, then maybe she can put you in touch with Scott. Good luck!

You can get the lyrics from Susie Malcolm, Susie@jimmalcolm.com, she'll probably mail you a copy of the cd. Jim told me the attic is full of them.
