Just back from Memorial Hall at Salmesbury and The PolyJesters Gig.

Having heard their CDs I thought I knew what I was in for; A great night of music delivered at a very high standard.

I can only say they delivered far far more than I expected or could have wished for, after 47+ years going to and playing at concerts, festivals and clubs (not to mention the odd pub) this must be one of, if not the best nights of entertainment not for just me but for a hall full of cheering, clapping and shouting enthusiastic PolyJesters Fans (most of whom didn't realise they were fans when they arrived at the beginning of the evening).

Their stage presence was spot-on, musical ability unquestionable, interaction with audience - fantastic, entertainment value - off the scale.

If you treat yourself to just one night out this decade - make it to see the PolyJesters at one of their shows (list on their Website) you won't regret it!

For those of you heading over to The Plough on Tuesday, trust me (I'm a banjo Player) You're gonna Love 'Em, I can't wait to see and hear them again - thanks lad's (they're such nice people as well!)

PB

cheers Stu for the in depth description of the HM Coastguard equipment - now I'm as wise as you :0)

9th Nov 2006

Well we had a full house last night in the Chetham Arms and the band , in their own words "have set the watermark high". We bounced around, stamped our feet, whistled and whooped our way through a set which took us from bluegrass, to swing, from Billie Holiday to the Godfather. These guys have a tight, disciplined style stunning harmony voices and fantastic musicianship, bundled together with great humour and energy. And this was all whilst still jetlagged! One down, 22 to go

Ps. Phil Brown who runs a folk programme on Radio Lancashire came along. They've done 35 minutes for his show and he has fallen in love and is now trying to work out how to get them onto the festival circuit

Well they've Landed!

Great to air interview and songs on Radio Lancashire this afternoon and an interview with Phil Brown on The Drift (Radio Lancashire) tomorrow at 8.00pm.

Off to see them tomorrow and confirm times then sitting back :0) and looking forward to a great night on Tuesday 14th at The Plough - further information for Penny... Fylde Folk Festival will be making a donation on the night for the A.R.C. collection and also a presentation to the Lifeboat Institute from the donations for the Penny Dreadful sold at Fylde this year.

It looks like it's going to be a great night with lots of people enjoying this Great Canadian Band and all for FREE!

If your free that night try and get along - you might even be on the DVD they're recording of the tour!
