Well worth listening to even though the film is a little black.

latest Cloudstreet newsletter

......................................

Hello to all (especially to those who are new to our mailing list).

We've posted a video recording of The Briar and the Rose on the free video server, Youtube.com. The recording was made by Bob from the Goodwills at a recent performance in Maleny in Australia. It was a terrific night, and though the lights were a little low, we were very happy with the sound. If you'd like to take a look and have a listen, follow this link to YouTube.com and check out the clip.

We hope you enjoy it.

And of course our original recording of the song is available on our second album, Violet Sarah and Muckle John.

We're off next week to the Atherton Tablelands for the Yungaburra Folk Festival. If circumstances find you in North Queensland on on the weekend of 25 October, we'll see you there.

Lots of love from

Nic and John

PS. If the link doesn't work in your email program, a search for cloudstreet on Youtube.com should bring up the file.

Yay! Now that I've got my sound back, I was able to listen to it. Regardless of the clinking of crockery and the darkness of the film - what a fabulous performance! John and Nicole, even when it doesn't seem possible, you guys just get better and better!

Next question is, when are you going to be in Sydney again?

Jenny (needing my Cloudstreet fix)

Just a bit good - But DONT forget that they are quite average on instruments as well - I had to fake something comparable to Nicole's Whistle playing for El G's Album launch concert ! Two cracking singers , Bloody fine musicians and even a well written song or two !!
