***REFRESH AFTER THREE YEARS***

Just thought I'd make that clear :)

Anyhoo, looks like we'll be camping in Herefordshire for the first week of May 2010. Not decided *exactly* where yet tho'.

a) Any suggestions for specific areas, and nice camp-sites?
We're in the Camping & Caravanning Club now! Please feel free to PM if you want to keep your ickle special sites 'discreet'!

b) Up to date info on any good folk type events/clubs/fests etc. in Herefordshire during the first week of May 2010, would be appreciated...

I'm already looking into something called 'The Big Apple' which is an apple blossom festival ...aah!

Cheers, CS

and another thing..........
If the venue is not current then any contact number is useful if the person who answers knows what happened and where they all go now.

As Mr GUEST says - ring if in any doubt.

Yep - let's hope they are uptodate - the evidence is against it.
Always ring first.......

The problem is that people who run these things are full of enthusiasm at the start and will tell anyone who will listen about the venue. When it closes there is little enthusism to inform even those know to have supported the event all along - albeit at a distance.

I've been known to turn up at folk clubs and have a lean night just talking to others who weren't told (last week!).

Mrs Lemon - shame on you, one look at cresby.com is a good start and you knew that.

It will give you insight into NightJar Music concerts, the Hereford FC, the Volunteer and Victoria sessions, the Much Dewchurch SAR, the Bishops Frome SAR, The Leominster Grape Vaults Irish bash, the .................. Oh look at the site and tell me there is nothing there! What more do I have to do? Provide maps? Stick flyers in the mitts of everyone I see? Shamelessly self-promote on Mudcat?

Maybe I should try these things!

just looked at the web site and it doesn't tell you where the sessions are. Go to the library and get a copy of the Broad Sheep; in that you'll find what you're looking for.

We don't do folk clubs around here. Don't know why, but sessions? Get a copy or visit www.broadsheep.com because that's telling you what's on in the area you're visiting. pm me, and maybe we can meet up for a drink or summut.

We're off to Herefordshire next weekend for 4 days (Saturday to Tuesday) - close to the Welsh border. Does anyone know if there are any folk clubs handy?

Ali
