Long-scheduled hip replacement surgery, isn't it? I hope they don't actually let him near a computer at the hospital! That certainly won't help him recover. Giok, I hope this one heals quickly and you can go back to your starring role in Riverdance soon.

He will? He IS having the hydraulics isn't he Sorch? C'mon now.....tell the truth. I know he wanted them after the "All Natural and Organic Erectile Dysfuntion Poltice" didn't work out so well......................

I guess he found it on the net maybe. He made up this solution for the poltice that was made from rancid cooking oil, burnt onions, ketchup, mustard, garlic, and dill. He wrapped his willie in it every day for a month and it actually got everything functioning quite well again. Monster boners almost as soon as he applied the paste! Giok was pretty happy with the whole thing and then........................Kinda' tragic really...............He had to quit using it even though it worked. It seems that every time he drove past a McDonalds's he got a hard-on.

All the best with the hip replacement, John. You have been through it once. Now you know what's ahead with this one.

I wired the hospital and they will do the decorative tattoo on your pecker, but they said they didn't think they could get all of "Scotland the Brave" on there unless they went to a size 72 Font. If by chance they do "Mairzy Doats" instead, hey, stuff gets lost in trans-Atlantic communications.

I'll be thinking of you.

'Course he's probably too cheap for that..................Geez, I hope he went for more than the manually pressurized Flacid Flogger. Better than nothing I suppose, but, uh.................

The little procedure was a catheter ablation - the one where they go into the heart via (usually) the femoral vein... that's the one that goes up through your groin and into your heart.

I've had one done myself, and whilst it's no picnic (after all, it's HEART surgery), it is considerably less painful and quicker to get over than a hip replacement.

Take care dear, will speak soon.

Catheter ablation
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Catheter ablation is an invasive procedure used to remove a faulty electrical pathway from the hearts of those who are prone to developing cardiac arrhythmias such as supraventricular tachycardias (SVT) and Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.

It involves advancing a flexible catheter into the patient's blood vessels, usually either in the femoral vein or subclavian vein. The catheter is then advanced towards the heart and high-frequency electrical impulses are used to induce the arrhythmia, and then ablate (surgically remove) the accessory pathway that is causing it.

Catheter ablation is usually performed by an electrophysiologist (a specially trained cardiologist) in a cath lab.

Amongst others, Tony Blair (current prime-minister of Britain) has undergone a successful catheter ablation.

Catheter ablation my ass. Ol' Spaw done been there and done that back in '98. The biggest concern is that during the course of the procedure it may be that your heart is put into life threatening patterns that require a "zap" to reconvert.

In my case this procedure took longer than they usually did then and they kept you "in and out" so you'd be asleep part of the time and awake at times. Unfortunately I was awake once when they had to zap me. The pads had been attached prior to starting so all they had to do was stay clear and hit a button. They thought I was "out" and I wasn't. Geeziz.....It was like being hit in the chest with a monstrous ball bat packing along a boatload of volts!

But I still think this allowed Giok to get the hydraulic implant which I bet was the real reason he went.

Thanks again for all the good wishes, I shall need them again on the 16th of NOvember when I go in for the 2nd HipHop, so start saving now.

Ah yes.... the beta blockers.... aren't they fun!

Thanks for the description Bobad - wish someone had told me that before I had mine done, it would have made for a less stressful week!

And 'Spaw - you got off lucky... I didn't get put out at all, I remained awake and nervous throughout! Those zaps are something else though.

Giok - did you get to watch? I did, it's fascinating in a macabre sort of way, watching this camera and soldering iron go up the inside of your body!

Now comes the worst bit.... stubble rash!

Good luck mate.

That is wonderful news. My post earlier (upthread) was wrong. I'd got the dates mixed and thought you were in this time for the other hip. But, being off the BBs is fantastic. Truthfully, I would have been nervous and worried if I'd known it was heart related, so my crappy memory served me well in this instance. Ya crusty old bugger, I am real happy to see you. And Spaw, I thought an 'autoboner' was a Ferrari. I thought a catherter ablution was something that happened when the bag broke.

Giok...ouch. I hope you heal quickly, but take it easy. You're not going to be faster than the sheep right now, so be patient until you get your joint fixed.

As an interesting sidenote,(at least to me) When I felt I needed help reaching Giok, I was in a pub in INverness. NOw the folks at the B and B promised Jayne and me that a great combination of dinner AND trad Scottish music was a pub named Hootenannies on CHurch Street in Inverness. THey told me that although the pub was a classic Scottish Pub in archetectural features, it had been bought by a THai who served excellent but THAI food. BUt they promised that it was a "Can't go wrong" venue for Trad music. Well, the pub was delightful, the THai food was terrific... but the band was a group named PADDYRASTA... you are correct. It was a fusion of Celtic and Reggie! Damn fine music though! SO I was texting my son to contact Giok from a Scottish Pub eating Thia food listening to Reggie/Celtic fusion!
