We do have a few extra costumes. Anyone like to join us? It will be fun but probably not embarrassing. Not nearly as bad as having Happy Birthday sung to you at Denny's by a troupe of bouncing bodies. InObu and Dan Schatz are "maybes". Wonder if Janice or Ron Davies could be persuaded? Dottie Hurley? Jennifer Woods?

I'll take my batteries with a grain o' salt, but I"m still in. Sounds like there's enough batteries required to successfully hold an Assembly Of God service with a warranty plan besides, and like a chance to actually make History. A chance at battery powered immortality has to be better than a chance at none at all. Kinda like a cemetary catalog offering several grades and upgrades of "eternal flames". I hope rehearsals will be in a secured and heavily guarded location.

Neigh, laddie, I wasn't getting it on with that horse. We were just talking about why I was saddled up to a Cardinals hat when I am from Michigan. That's when she knew that there was no chance of a meaningful relationship, Michigan boys prefer "Bossie, the stump trained cow". This, like the pastie, was a substitution in the old days. There aren't many sheep in Michigan, so the cow became every boy's first "special friend". I kept looking for a cow costume but all they had was flamingos, horses, and some critter I never saw before.

I can't believe I just wrote that. Don't push the "send" button, Mick..............DON'T DO IT.......I can't help meself......... DON'T LAD, C'MON, THIS WILL BE .....STOP .....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...........

Now I have to say that my family found a dramatic and nearly acceptably respectable tinge to THIS year's flamingo costume.

Some of those cowboys did take a bit of encouragement to get in the saddle though....

Well...now....I won't go into the ladies helping me dress, as a gentleman does not discuss these things. But I will say that I will never forget Big Mick's Last Stand when he swore he couldn't go on because his costume would not go above his knees. Then he thought about getting helped into it by the Demonic Damsels or even Madcap Mary herself, and found that by throwing all kinds of things out of his pockets -- spuds, old credit card slips, a bottle opener, two driver's licenses in other names, a solver pocket flask, a couple of unused birth control devices, a wallet and what looked like an inflatable "On Strike" sign -- he was able to squeeze into the damn pony, so to speak, ignoring the neighs of protest. It was a good try, though.

I can't say the "costume failures" were as interesting as I heard they were last year - but there was one failure: this year, Mick's "costume" was flaccid and limp.
