They've been living in the Stuttgart area of Germany for ages. Shirley had to give up singing long ago due to health problems IIRR, but as alanabit says, Colin is still gigging, writing songs and appears as MC every year at the Venne Folk Festival near Osnabrueck.

You can easily get in touch with Colin over his MySpace site. He still plays gigs in Germany, although he is now at the age at which he can feel entitled to spend more time at home.

Third attempt and not even sure if it's worth it with all I can offer.
But Colin and Shirley were part of the 1960's "folk" scene in London and were regulars at among others the Ballads and Blues Club in London post departure of Ewan and Peggy. They were always very entertaining and good people to deal with. I understand that they went to Germany and opened a folk club where they became very popular and there they remain apparently.

Colin Wilkie's Website is http://www.colinwilkie.de. Some of his stuff is too "pop" for me, but I really like some of his work, particularly the very singable Icy Acres - which I first heard on a recording by the Shellback chorus.

Can somebody tell us more about Wilkie and Hart?

-Joe-

I have a copy of We Travel the Road by Wilkie and Hart purchased in Munster (westfalen) in 1967. It is only just playable but I could get some of the lyrics if you give me the titles you want. Let me know what you need, will try to help.

Dear Celtic folk friends,

I am looking for weeks every in the net for lyrics or chords of Colin Wilkie and Shirley Hart or their (?) son Vincent Wilkie.

Who can help me? My sons are playing Scottish/Irish music the whole day through and like the CD "I wish I had written that song" with and about Colin.

Thanx a lot in advance

Nobby the Snobby
