I've been singing this since was a kid but have no idea what it's title is or who wrote and performed it. I know it was on The Folk Show in the mid 80's... My dad and I had a deal... If I remembered to tape it for him after school, he'd only watch McNeil-Lehrer every other night and I could watch The Polka Dot Door every other night... Dad can't remember anything about it either... but on to the song.

Sad that it's lost no relevance in twenty years, though I often substitute "grunge" for "rags" and switch the order of the starving children and warlords verses. Please help with info if you can.

Found out the song is titled "Hungry" by Joe Heukerott (sp?), and its recorded on vinyl.

If you can't locate Joe's LP, his recording is also on CD - Ten Great Years at Kerrville Folk Festival, Vol 2, disc 2.
