This morning's castaway is Humphrey Lyttleton - that's gotta be worth listening to.

I missed this morning's show because I was in Belgium. Have just returned from the Flanders Experience to find this thread - Desert Island Discs not available on Listen Again, though!

Thanks Fred, I know that there is a Friday repeat (and the trip to Belgium on Friday gave me a chance to hear the previous week's programme with Heston Blumenthal). The BBC website says Listen again is not available for rights reasons. I'll just have to try to set up a tape from the radio on Friday.

The Graham Nash programme was wonderful. Vivid recollections of growing up in a less well-off part of Manchester, meeting Allan Clarke at schhol, going to see the Everly Brothers as a besotted young fan, and the thrill when the Everlys later asked him to contribute songs to an album. Many other fantastic tales of Joni and CSN, plus a real tear-jerker tale regarding his mother's ashes. All that, and some great musical choices. You need to hear it.

I agree Brian...a vintage D.I.D.

I also found the Graham Nash D.I.D. very interesting. I know it's not the purpose of such programmes but it really got me wondering about who he really is. Some things revealed, but so much unsaid. That's life I suppose!
