You should find an "Audio Restoration" tool on your Tools menu on the toolbar if you have a reasonably recent version of Soundforge.
You might also find a "Click and Crackle Remover" on your FX favourites menu- probably by Steinberg or Sonic Foundry.
The trick with that is to run through the presets (Six, I think) with the little box ticked that allows you to hear just what is being removed. It's called "Keep Residual Output".
Adjust the controls till you just hear the clicks and crackles and none of the music. Then UNCLICK THE BUTTON before you press OK to process the track. Otherwise you'll just have the crackles left.
Cheers

I use SoundForge for editing tracks, but recently have received recordings with scratches--obviously recorded from scratched records. Does SoundForge have a function for eliminating these? I'm not an expert with the program. Otherwise I might try the above-mentioned program.

Don't know the programme. I use an assortment of different ones which do specific tasks which were either magazine cover disc freebies, shareware or time limited freebies. I am not sure if paying for a bunch of shareware works out dearer than one All-in-one programme.
Quack!

My Computer Active Magazine speaks particularly highly of this programme and I am interested to know if anyone else has used it for converting tapes or LP's and cleaning up music tracks.

It also seems to be able to do the thing that other programmes have difficulty with - automatically identifying the split between tracks.

Although costing £22.99 the magazine gives it full marks for value for money.
