Armenian Tuning

I have noted some talk on this forum about the tuning/scales of Armenian music. I have heard many things about the tuning, am a duduk player myself, but would like to get definitive information on standard Armenian tuning:
1. Is it the same as Western equal temperement?
2. If not, how is it different?

All the Armenian/American musicians I knew played in western pitch--the makams that they used were comparable to the Greek ones--however, I have heard Armenian musicans playing classical Turkish music, using the Turkish makams--I am not sure what the intonation of your duduk is--

I have always found it very difficult to tune my Armenians.
