I'm there from Thursday to Sunday. Is there anything going on there or thereabouts?

The Winking Owl seems to be your best bet.

Had a look at that site - couldn't find The Winking Owl. Where is it?

Peter, it's mentioned in one of the threads as hosting "The McEwan's Session" during summer months, so there must be a sesh scene there or thereabouts.
Google "Aviemore" and you'll gets a lot of sites to trawl through. This is from one of them:-

The Winking Owl
Grampian Road,
Aviemore,
PH22 1RH
01479 810646
"The Winkie" is a lively après-ski haunt serving good pub grub.

I've spent every Hogmanay week for the last 30 years in Aviemore - mostly hill-walking, mountain biking or skiing. If there are any regular sessions, I've yet to find them.

Ah Ray! That was then, this is now! Mayhap someone has started one sometime this year having experienced the McEwan's Sessions.
I don't know, I'm well north of Aviemore, and just trying to help.
