I hope some of you knowledgeable folk will be able to answer this question.

I have created a myspace account and set up a very basic page without much on it at the moment (it seems to have a load of stuff I don't realy want but hopefully I can remove stuff later (?)).

What I really want to do is to add some songs etc. with a player, like you see on proper musicians' sites. But I can't for the life of me work out how that's done. I've trawled through the FAQ and it tells me how to add other folks' music to my site, but I'm b*gg*red if I can work out how to add my own!

Can anyone please point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance for any advice received.

I don't have THE authoritative answer, but I had the same question until I found "Artist signup"...signing up as an "artist" gives you the ability to upload music and have the player...
