Here they are, even some chords. Haven't sung this in a long time.

THE MAN IN THE MOON
Words, Bill Dickson; music, Kathy Stewart

I came from the land of the long grass and gorse, G Em7 C D
I flew with the eagle, I ran with the horse, G Em7 C D
And I played with the wild wind and whistled its tune.
I ebbed with the oceans and slept in the moon.

And you brought me down gently, D G
You brought me down clean, C D
You fed me the summer, you fed me your dreams, G Em7 C D
Your hands held the wound, G Em
and heart healed the pain, Am B7
And your eyes stole the light Em C7
of the moon as it waned. Em6 D C Bm Am

We yourneyed the moorlands and oceans of blue
We slept with the dawn and we rose with the dew
And we sang with the breezes of the year to be born
We lay in the long grass when the scythe took the corn.

I will fall with the leaves, I'll turn with the land
I'll chill with the first frost that stings on you hand
But I gathered the seeds from the gorse and the broom
"I'll lay them forever," said the Man in the Moon.

cheers, S. in Seattle

Ahhhhh, my boy Andy. :) One of my all-time favorite songwriters. If we could get HIM to play Dusty Strings, I'd just melt into a little gelatinous blob on the floor. *grin*

Hmmm...*evil thoughts surfacing*...

Molly
