Hello,

I'm a Mudcat Virgin. I'm also a singer songwriter based in Manchester and I've just finished recording an album.
I'm looking to get some leads for gig venues and festivals to play at and wondered if there is anyone out there who can help?.
I have a page at www.myspace.com/lisamarieglover so if anyone's interested, go and have a look and listen.

Chau for now,

Lisa Marie Glover

Welcome to the madhouse Lisa, if you want gigs, go to folk clubs and do floor spots, if you are any good, club organisers will want to book you as a guest, this is always good to remember, the first time I saw Christy Moore, he was doing a floor spot at the Grass Roots folk club in Halifax.

Come up to Swinton Folk Club if you're passing Lisa Marie - Not much chance of a gig for ages I'm afraid as we are booked up well in advance but you will be welcome any night and on singers nights you will be guaranteed a couple of songs at least - More if we don't have a lot of singers in. Best way to start getting gigs is to get noticed and there is no substitute for getting out there and impressing the hell out of event organisers. Hope this helps.

Cheers

Dave

Hang on, wasn't that the reason why we know the Second Coming isn't going to happen in Manchester - you'd never find three wise men and a virgin round there...

As a fellow Lancastrian (from Lytham), hi!

Graham.

Hello and Welcome

What Eric the Red has said is right, go to folk clubs - you will love it.

Good Luck and hope to see you around on the scene in the future

All i can suggest is you spend an evening at your pc sending begging emails to folk clubs and festivals. Pebble dash the circuit with cd's and visit as many sessions/singarounds/folk and acoustic clubs as poss telling them you don't want money, just exposure... you may just get a gig.

If there are any organisers who are mudcats, please, please give us beginners a look/listen on myspace.
