I was browsing t'internet earlier wondering if the Incredible String Band were still touring and I found on their website dates for May 2007 and September - Moseley Folk Festival. On Moseley Folk Festivals site the ISB were on September 2006 and it said it was their 'last live gig'.

Anyone know anything about either ISB touring in 2007 or Moseley. The festival looks like a good do btw - Might go even if ISB ain't there:-)

Looks fantasic Villan - I will certainly make an effort in 2007. Only trouble being that it looks to be the weekend after Fylde so it depends if I can get 2 weekend passes!

Can you guarantee the weather that it shows on the web site though? I guess the sun always shines on Brum? ;-)

is that September 2007. We might make it, if we remember, if someone gives us nudge, if we live that long and if sons birthday (17) doesn't clash. No bin to Moseley for years.

I was reading an interview with Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys recently who said that the first band that he was in was mainly influenced by the ISB.

I Saw the ISB twice in Manchester in the 70's (Free Trade Hall and Hard Rock Cafe)and once in Beverley much more recently - preferred the Manchester gigs: Probably because we were all younger then:-)

Mosseley was a very interesting festival ! Small, bit like a mini Cambridge vibe, a real variety of music, a few teething probs (see mosseley website), but inspiring and v.enjoyable. Not, as far as I could see many trad folkies there, but loads of youngsters pure digging the likes of John Renbourne, Mike Heron & 'nu-folk' ??!!, such as Tunng and Circulus. Janice Long compering!!-I believe she is a Mosseley resident (probably helped them get Hayseed Dixie on the bill). Reccomended and interesting to see how next years fest pans out ! Did anyone else go ??
