An excellent fellow, a fantastic performer - do check out his website (given by Sylvia in the link above) and his latest CD A Rare Hunger in particular: magic of the highest order. You won't be disappointed.

By the way Spot, note the correct spelling of Nick's surname is Hennessey. Need to change the thread title!

"A rare Hunger" (Harbourtown HARCD049) is a remarkable CD. Very wonderful haunting singing, .The first track(Balor) gripped me in a very strange way about two notes in. Lots of other good songs, with some very wonderful harp and cello interplay And a very very sad version of Lord Franklin. Definitely worth seeking out.

He also used to play in Serious Kitchen with Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer. Well worth a listen if you can track down any of their albums!

Nick is a fabulous performer. I have seen him perform at Whitby Folk Week and also at a storytelling festival in the Lake District. He is one of the leaders of a storytelling workshop being held in Devon at the end of January, along with Hugh Lupton and Helen Chadwick. I am considering going to it.
