Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 15 Apr 05 - 05:26 PM Just how would you know? :-) |
Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: GUEST,StrangeFruit Date: 15 Apr 05 - 04:51 PM Even in Georgia, the different local CocaCola bottling plants would produce different variations of Coke. Older Atlanta residents can remember their preferences for "sweet" or "sharp" Coke, and could look on the bottom of the bottle for the stamp to tell which factory it came from, to make sure they got the right flavor. Everyone had their preferred bottling facility. I'm an Atlanta native, but I've always thought Coke tasted like arse, just my opinion. |

Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: GUEST,Mingulay at work Date: 24 Mar 05 - 09:11 AM This thread started before I knew about Mudcat, as a current employee of Coca Cola the product does taste different across the world and is slightly modified to reflect local tastes. Here in the UK although made at 5 different locations water (the principal constituent) is treated to neutralise regional variations and give a consistent product taste. There are two bottles sitting on my desk right now, one from Kent and one from Scotland, both taste the same. Advert over. Yes, I have heard Leadfingers sing this. |
Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: Leadfingers Date: 23 Mar 05 - 03:26 PM Guest Kate - I sing this song all the time - If you join the Cat and PM me I can send you a tape or possibly even the dots ! |
Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: GUEST,Kate Date: 23 Mar 05 - 02:13 PM Hi, Does anyone know where I can get a legal mp3 download of this? My Dad used to sing it to me, although he could only ever remember the chorus, and I'd love to learn it for him - but I'm unsure of the tune! Thanks Kate |
Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: Mark Cohen Date: 14 Jul 01 - 10:19 PM Thanks, Jon, I knew that particular urban legend was true but didn't have the documentation. And I hope Dicho noticed that the ever-reliable Noreen posted the answer to the question just before his post. (That happens all the time, of course...while you're carefully checking your post to make sure there's nothing silly in it, someone else posts something that makes yours look silly. And of course, you don't see theirs because you're busy with yours! One of the Great Truths of Mudcat. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if at this very moment someone is briefly pointing out Noreen's answer while I'm blathering on instead of typing up my chart notes as I'm supposed to be doing...) Aloha, Mark |

Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: Dicho (Frank Staplin) Date: 14 Jul 01 - 09:22 PM Nothing to do with the search on this thread, but Coca Cola does vary in sugar and other content in an attempt to meet the taste of the region where it is sold. Mexico used to have the highest sugar content, but that may have changed. The original Georgia Coca Cola, along with all of its successors, have never contained cocaine or its derivatives (Old wives tale, like Aqua Velva closing pores after shaving). Someone please come along with the words to that song- I remember it from schooldays- because the rest of us are just filling in time until someone does |

Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: Lonesome EJ Date: 17 Mar 99 - 03:24 AM Glad you are talkin to me Cats...thought you were pissed off because I hinted that you were a red-headed hillbilly ex-hippie with a hot tub on the "Whatsa Mudcateer look like?"thread. What I meant to say was that you are a red-headed hillbilly ex-hippie with a hot tub and a 4 year old Ford Explorer. To both you k(c)ats, I was born in Louisville, mom's family from the hollers in Rockcastle County, dad's from Clarksville,IN.They moved to San Fernando Ca when I was 2, moved back when I was 9. Went to U of Louisville 68-72(Go you Cardinals), moved to Colorado in 1976, just missing katlaughing.I have a wife and 10 year old daughter, whom I usually blame when I can't find something. Also, I never read the entire thread on any topics, but instead respond to the last post in a rather hair-trigger way. But you knew that. |

Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: Lonesome EJ Date: 17 Mar 99 - 02:42 AM Uh...Alistair? Got any of that Brazilian Coke? |
Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: Ronn Date: 16 Mar 99 - 11:26 PM The Coca-Cola that I drank in England always seemed to have been bottled on the continent (is that an offensive term to the English? If so, please accept my apologies. I know Hawaiians dislike references to 'back in the states'), usually Belgium or the Netherlands. Those neat little 150ml cans come from Uxbridge though. I notice this stuff only because my wife works for Coca-Cola. But does anyone know anything about the song? |
Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: Bert Date: 16 Mar 99 - 05:20 PM AlistairUK, It didn't always taste like cloves. It was just that one batch. Not that I've anything against cloves, but it just tasted odd in Coke. Bert. |
Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: AlistairUK Date: 16 Mar 99 - 02:52 PM Coke in England does not taste like cloves...but Brazilian coke taste like it still has cocain in it and feels like it too. |
Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: MMario Date: 16 Mar 99 - 02:48 PM I'm not sure about NOW - because I rarely drink Coke - but back in the 60's when my family drove cross country the Coke changed flavour from state to state..... MMario |
Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: Bert Date: 16 Mar 99 - 02:43 PM Murray, I agree, It ain't true. The worst one that I have tasted was in England. It tasted like cloves. Bert. |
Subject: RE: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: murray@mpce.mq.edu.au Date: 16 Mar 99 - 06:35 AM Can't help you with the song, Bill, but it ain't true! Cokes taste different in different parts of the world. In my opinion the best ones I have tasted were in Aarhus, Denmark (perhaps all of Denmark--I have never drunk them elsewhere.) The worst ones were in London. Murray |
Subject: Coca Cola always tastes the same From: bill\sables Date: 15 Mar 99 - 07:14 AM Does anyone know this song. The chorus is; I've seen the Mona lisa and the leaning tower of Pizza I've been to Timbucktoo and back again But no matter where I go the only thing I know The Coca Cola always tastes the same |
