Thanks for the enthusiasm, but unfortunately life isn't that simple. I don't actually own the Mill site, I just pay lots of money to use it from FRIDAY MIDDAY till Monday. They allow us onto the site Thursday afternoon to set up, so please don't arrive there before that!! We have a new field for camping, and I am still getting to know the farmer. It will be available from Thursday but only if you are coming to help.
Last years early start was a one off because it was Toby's 21st. The extra work involved in starting so early was too much and made it a very long weekend for all those involved in stewarding and security etc.
Please PM or email me if you want to help on Thursday afternoon.

Andy

I have just discovered an old friend from many years ago,who helped some friends & me to run a folk-club in Gosport,in a pub called the Queens Hotel. I was in a group called "The Mariners " ,she was a schoolgirl who came along, with two friends,to help set up,put the chairs out ,etc. Well, it turns out that she has been going to Miskin since it first started, and that she & I have spoken to each other at Miskin, without realising who we were !!! Her name is Anne,& her daughter is a good fiddle-player,apparently !! Anyway,Miskin this year will now be very special for me !! You can see how we "found" each other on the "Gosport & Fareham Festival" thread !!......Roger

GP I prefer "Leacocks Saint John Madeira" me sel like. Down to the last drop now after the excess usage, wassailing time. Good job I'm coming by car and boat. Get some tax free. Anyone bringing some Mince Pies? Now Madeira and Mince Pies. Cor!

Good to see so many fine voices to be heard ringing in the cottage - but where oh where is Tori? She made my cry 4 times in 3 songs last year - too, too wonderful. I should not denigrate any of the other fine performers from last year (well, except perhaps for someone with a "musical" saw, who despite all was perfectly amiable and friendly when sober) but she was wholly the pinnacle of the festival for me. Perhaps since she is young other delights have tempted her away but I DO hope she will be back.

Oh, and John the Barden if passing and Capella, and any others who know, lend an ear and voices to my plea that Marion Button's voice in that setting would just be to die for....

Quite right Lynne, no doubt at all!

We're quite happy to muck about with a bottle of Taylor's LBV 2001, there's one on the optic in the kitchen right now. Also quite a stockpile in the port-cellar as there was a very good deal just before Christmas. Didn't even need to get into the car, it was delivered - the power of the internet!!!

According to some wine experts (But what do they know) on the TV program "Ready Steay Cook" yesterday.

- Port and wine is a No, No! even for the heavy blues. Even Red wines are a No, No.
They reccomend a WHITE wine -

What are we doing wrong? If anything.

I'd have thought, white for the lighter white cheeses, and a red for the blues.

Well like GP and Barden sod the cheese, lets get pissed.

You're such a sweet talker Geordie Peorgie. I once knew a sultry Romanian Temptress just like you so how can I say no? We'll have some Port on board too so it looks like a good time should be had by all. A wee nippy sweetie of the Strathisla sounds delicious - count me in.
