Subject: Tech: string gauges From: stevethesqueeze Date: 11 Dec 06 - 03:22 PM Can someone help? I have short scale tenor guitar, about 19inch scale , and I tune it GDAE like an octave mandolin except with four strings. I realy struggle getting the right gauges. How do you work out what gauges to use and what principles are involved? I only get it right on a hit or miss basis. Currently its 16, 26, 36 and 56 and the 36 and 56 buzz quite a bit. any help appreciated. stevethesqueeze |
