Yes he died aged 40.

Born in 1931 and died in 1971.

OK then.

I knew he was a bit of a rake, but I guess I hadn't realized he really did drink himself into an early grave.

It always amused me that demanded his wife learn the Gaeilge in 3 mos, and then abandoned her & their son.

But Peadar seems all right with his da, so that's good enough for me. He is a very nice person.

According to the first line in Tomas O Canainn's book "Sean O Riada His Life and Work" - "Sean O Riada was born under his English name of John Reidy in Cork on 1 August 1931"
