Subject: BS: GUEST abuse - is it justified? From: Mr Red Date: 03 Jan 07 - 07:49 AM No - but it could be fun if it wasn't for the fact that not talking to them is more fun. Harder to do but much, much more fun when achieved with integrity. d8^) |

Subject: RE: BS: GUEST abuse - is it justified? From: GUEST,faux.no Date: 03 Jan 07 - 08:36 AM A mention of the character of the Mudcat site is in order. The fact that guests can post is obviously based upon an ideal; a technical barrier to such postings could easily be obtained if the ultimate site authority wished to disallow such posts. Therefore, to disrespect guests categorically is to disrespect Mudcat and its controlling authority. |

Subject: RE: BS: GUEST abuse - is it justified? From: GUEST,faux.no Date: 03 Jan 07 - 09:09 AM When the truth stings, a flimsy guise of logical analysis is unbecoming. What is the substance of the logical objection? |

Subject: RE: BS: GUEST abuse - is it justified? From: Bill D Date: 03 Jan 07 - 09:35 AM unsupported premise...that allowing guests is an 'ideal' rather than an accident of technology. unsupported premise..."..a technical barrier to such postings could easily be obtained.." implied premise...'that criticism of certain guest posts IS 'disrespect'.. the implied premise creates an "undistributed middle" term, which makes the conclusion linking attitude toward guests post to attitude toward "controlling authority" invalid. |

Subject: RE: BS: GUEST abuse - is it justified? From: Amos Date: 03 Jan 07 - 09:46 AM Abuse BY Guests, betraying the spirit in which the group operates, is not justified; neither is abuse of them. But you can't really abuse one Guest because there's no way of knwoing to whom you are directing your wrath. A |

Subject: RE: BS: GUEST abuse - is it justified? From: terrier Date: 03 Jan 07 - 09:59 AM Well......there seems to be so much abuse of MEMBERS by MEMBERS, is it any wonder that GUESTS are not treated fairly (sometimes). Maybee abuse is too strong a word to use. Try misunderstand or mistrust! The flamers and trolls are usually easy to spot and just as easy to IGNORE. |
