I received this message on a dance forum, and found the clip interesting.

Dear friends,
In connection with an ECD workshop and Playford Ball in Plattsburgh, NY this Saturday night (celebrating Twelfth Night, with music by the renowned Baltimore Consort), I was interviewed on the area's NPR station. The interviewer, Todd Moe, was one of the more intelligent and aware newsgatherers I've encountered in my career, so I thought fellow ECD-listers might enjoy hearing our conversation. You'll recognize several of the themes we've discussed at length here on our beloved list! (BTW, the tradition of "Old Christmas" on Twelfth Night originated with the subtraction of 11 days from the old Julian calendar to conform to the new Gregorian calendar in 18th-c. England. In the heat of the moment my comments turned it around.... )

Here's the audio link

For more info about the Twelfth Night Festival (we're pretty full up, but additional experienced dancers would certainly be welcomed!), see.

Excellent interview - you provided a lot of interesting info in a short time. And yes, the interviewer Tod Moe is very skilled. Would that there were more like him.
Have a great time on the night!

Johnny A
