Subject: Name that tune? From: Chris Marshall Date: 19 Mar 99 - 11:48 AM There's a song called, I believe, "I'll Be With Thee". Jerry Garcia covered it. Its a gospel tune which refers to the Israelites. Does anyone know anything about this song or where I can find lyrics/chords? |
Subject: RE: Name that tune? From: Helen Date: 21 Mar 99 - 07:03 AM Chris, It would work a lot better if you started a new thread with the title LYR/CHORDS I'll Be With Thee Note: don't use quotes (") in the thread title. It's easier for people to identify threads which they may know something about if you are specific in the title. Helen |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: I'll Be With Thee (Jerry Garcia Band) From: Janie Date: 04 Jun 17 - 02:59 AM I've recently been looking for the origins or early recordings/history of this song. Have not been able to suss out much. Was recorded by Dorothy Love Coates and the Gospel Harmonettes in, I think, 1956. No idea if it was written for this group or is a traditional spiritual. |

Do you have lyrics or a YouTube link, Janie? Here's a YouTube video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gFEErOzRczE |
