As to Mick - well I have no sympathy. Being virtually a TT I can't get sympathy together for sel-inflicted hangovers. Did you put a gun to his head for each beer? I know I didn't! lol

Mary and I will be there for some time on Saturday. We've got gigs on the Friday and Saturday nights (not too far away, fortunately) so it will have to be a bit of a flying visit. If there's a tune session somewhere we're likely to be in it. If there isn't we'll start one. There will definitely be one at the Ram on Saturday night, I'm told.

Whittlesey always holds a place in my heart.. I used to live in the area and was at the very first on that Brian revived and was for a fair few years before I left for Cornwall. We'll be drinking to you all at our own wassail.

Ah yes ZM, I remember that card & it never worked! I did feel very sorry for Mick that Saturday, he really wasn't well.... I've fooled the Friday business though, only coming for the Saturday - hope it wrks....

Hils: I seem to remember you carrying around a card saying "Don't drink too much on the Friday night". You promptly ignored it and remained in that state for much of the weekend.

Mick was SO hungover after the Friday night that he remained in shock for much of Saturday.

Shimrod: I'm surprised you had that experience. Check in with MGAS or similar who will point out the best sings.

Have just booked a Travelodge nearby for the Saturday night - that's what happens when you decide too late. Really looking forward to it & so glad that Brian et al resurrected the tradition - I haven't missed many Straw Bears! And yes, it will be cold - must remember 2 pairs of socks.......

I was in Whittlesey over Xmas. I can confirm that it was very cold!
Unfortunately, last time I went to the Straw Bear I felt that singers weren't very welcome.

It's a great weekend but VERY cold. The sings are second to none though and there is always a warm welcome.

Sadly it's too cold for me (getting over pleurisy) but have a great time all those who go.
