Origins: Young Rapoleon?

On Jody Stecher's 1999 release "Oh The Wind And Rain," he includes a song titled "Young Rapoleon," which is a derivation of a ballad called "The Bonny Bunch Of Roses." In the liner notes, he credits this particular version to Dee Hicks. Does anyone know if a recording of Dee Hicks doing this one exists? I have one Dee & Delta Hicks LP, but this tune is not on there.

I've heard Mike Seeger sing it, and he did spend some time with the Hicks.

It appears to have been released on a County Records anthology called:

Five Miles Out Of Town: Music Of The Cumberland Plateau - Vol. 2

I don't have this CD, and I suspect it's out of print.

I can't tell you whether the CD reissue, Traditional Music of the Cumberland Plateau Volume 2 Five Miles Out Of Town is still available. But Young Repoleon, as Dee Hicks called it, was included on the LP release. County 787.

BTW., I haven't relistened, so I'm not going to comment, but Steve Roud's Folksong Index lists the piece as Roud 664/Laws J5. Which presumably means that he regards Young Repoleon as a version of the Bonny Bunch of Roses, rather than a derivation.
