Subject: Tech: Two ADSL modems? From: Richard Bridge Date: 11 Jan 07 - 11:21 AM I have a modem/router (ADSL) and a wired network. My daughter (who cons the occasional man into fixing some ofher computer disasters) has just had a clear-out of her drawer of spare computer parts left behind by the said occasional men (who, I should add, do nothing other than fix computers, she has a permanent man for other things) and sent me the oddments. Oddments include a spare ADLS USB modem . Can I use that on another phone socket on my ADSL line to give me another access point to the internet that was NOT on my network? |

Subject: RE: Tech: Two ADSL modems From: Richard Bridge Date: 11 Jan 07 - 07:18 PM It would have been handy to have an internet computer for guests to use that did not give them access to my network. There are other ways to do it but they involve pfaffing about with passwords etc. |
