Subject: Folklore: MudGather Crediton UK 17th March 06 From: My guru always said Date: 11 Jan 07 - 05:47 PM Herewith notification of another MudGather at Crediton Folk Weekend at about tea-time on Saturday 17th March! Fantastic! Where is it? Here's a Map! (you might need to zoom out....) Some fantastic people booked for the concerts including our own Catters: George Papavgeris, Dame Patti Smith EPNS & Splott Man, Buddug (Ok, do you know who she is?), Mr & Mrs Scarecrow and Herga Kitty. Oh, and I'll be running the MudGather! Last year we had a MudRaffle and Catters kindly brought prizes with proceeds going towards the Folk Weekend. We also had Chocolate, and a good sing too! Here's last year's chat! So, who's going????? |

Subject: RE: Folklore: MudGather Crediton UK 17th March 06 From: Sue the Borderer Date: 11 Jan 07 - 08:42 PM .... and I'll be there with 'Herbaceous Border' so Lucy (and anyone else) bring your dancing shoes or come and play for us. Not sure about the time yet. Last year we danced mid/late afternoon on the Sat and lunchtime on Sun. Sue |
Subject: RE: Folklore: MudGather Crediton UK 17th March 06 From: Herga Kitty Date: 12 Jan 07 - 02:20 AM John Lee rang me last night because he's putting the programme together, and wanted to know if Derek and I would like to sing at a concert on the Saturday afternoon - concert from 3-4.30 will also involve John Morris and Shellbacks, so should be a good sing, and will hopefully leave time to get to Mudgather afterwards. Kitty |

Subject: RE: Folklore: MudGather Crediton UK 17th March 06 From: My guru always said Date: 12 Jan 07 - 05:22 AM Ah yes, am a bit behind the times aren't I!! Wonder if Joe or a nice elf might put the year right in the Title for me? *shuffles off embarrassed* ps. have asked that the Mudgather starts after the concerts this year (2007), unlike last year (2006), so that people can get along without it interfering with their pleasure..... |
Subject: RE: Folklore: MudGather Crediton UK 17th March 06 From: Hawker Date: 12 Jan 07 - 05:42 AM Sue might not be able to dance this year - leg in plaster till mid february ~ depends how physio goes but up for playing in a scratch band....... Cheers Lucy |
Subject: RE: Folklore: MudGather Crediton UK 17th March 06 From: Scrump Date: 12 Jan 07 - 06:39 AM Choosing St Patrick's Day for the date is a double-edged sword as there will be many other events on which may prevent some people going along (I have a gig for a start). But I hope it goes well, you have a great line-up by bthe sound of it. |
Subject: RE: Folklore: MudGather Crediton UK 17th March 06 From: Jock O' Dreams Date: 12 Jan 07 - 04:26 PM I shall be there.I am supposed to be singing somewhere but I haven't had "the Call" yet! Hope it won't clash with the "GATHER" |

Subject: RE: MudGather Crediton UK 17th March 06 From: Herga Kitty Date: 15 Jan 07 - 06:48 PM I thought for a moment that it was Sue's leg in plaster.... Lynne Truss might have had a point. Or comma,,,,, but in any case I hope Hawker's physio goes well. And that your plaster's not too itchy, Lucy, otherwise I can see why you're volunteering for a scratch band! Kitty |
Subject: RE: MudGather Crediton UK 17th March 06 From: Hawker Date: 15 Jan 07 - 07:04 PM LOL Kitty, I am ITCHING to get the damn thing off! Cheers, Lucy |
Subject: RE: MudGather Crediton UK 17th March 06 From: Sue the Borderer Date: 16 Jan 07 - 03:57 PM I must admit I was a bit shocked too when I read that I was in plaster! Seems Herbaceous Border will be dancing straight after the morris displays end - probably about 3 o'clock - on both Saturday and Sunday. So, hopefully I will get to the Mudgather, but shan't make it to your spot, Kitty. Hope it goes well. Sue |

Subject: RE: MudGather Crediton UK 17th March 07 From: Marje Date: 19 Mar 07 - 08:06 AM Agreed, it was a lovely little session. Great to be able to put some faces to names, and share some songs together. Marje |
Subject: RE: MudGather Crediton UK 17th March 07 From: Herga Kitty Date: 19 Mar 07 - 12:47 PM Thanks, MGAS, for organising it! It was a really good session. Short, good and in the warm....... I hope people enjoyed the singarounds in the Ring O'Bells barn too though - some Catters stayed for hours at our session on Saturday despite the attraction of other, warmer venues, and kept it going until midnight. Thanks especially Merek'n'Dary, Wuzzle and the couple who contributed Jeremy Taylor's "All along the South Coast" and John Conolly's "Three Balls", but whose Mudcat names I didn't catch at the Gather. Kitty |
