Hi there,

some time ago I bought a sampler on skiffle which includes "Wild about my loving" by Leeve Breakers.
My Question is whether somebody can tell me about the girl singing this song. I cannot not find anything about this group apart from this skiffle/jug-band-version on this special sampler. What's her name? Did she ever recorded other songs?

Know nothing about the girl, but the band contained Henry "the Jug" Bartlett who later formed the Famous Jug Band with Pete Berryman. This from this web page

I think it was Beverly Kutner,who became Beverly Martyn, having married John Martyn.
I could be wrong of course!

Yes, GUEST is right, it was Beverley Martyn (nee Kutner). She did record several other things, including of course the albums with John Martyn. In 1966 she made a single on the UK Deram label (I think it was the first release on that label) "Happy New Year", which included Jimmy Page among the session musicians (hence the single is souight after by collectors).

Many thanks to all "mudcats" and the information supplied! Seem to be very nice people taking part in The Mudcat Cafe.

The reason why I am interested in this person is because of an absolutely astonishing performance of this artist. One should bear in mind that this recording was made in 1965. Now I'm going to find out additional facts.
