Subject: Saddleworth's 10th Birthday From: Alio Date: 17 Jan 07 - 06:18 PM I can't believe it's 10 years since someone had a mad idea to start a folk festival in Saddleworth - but it's our 10th birthday next year! We're pushing the boat out a bit with the artists, and I think we've got a really good line up - including Waterson Carthy, New Scorpion Band, Jez Lowe (who appeared at the first one), Wilsons, Strawhead, Bill Whaley and Dave Fletcher, Dave Webber and Anni Fentiman, Biggles Wartime Band, Scolds Bridle, Bryony etc. etc....... We're also aiming to produce a Festival CD - double sided, featuring artists who have appeared at least twice, many of them local ones. It might prove to be a headache, but hopefully we'll manage it! It's still one of the cheapest weekend festivals in the country, so if you fancy having a look at one of our 8000 fliers (!!!), please giove me a call on 01457 870391, and I'll post one to you. Or you could always visit www.safra.org. Ali |

Subject: RE: Saddleworth's 10th Birthday From: Raggytash Date: 18 Jan 07 - 03:14 AM Hi Ali Sadly Christine and I probably won't get there this year, it's a fair treck from Whitby where I am now living and I don't know what days I get off until the start of the week if I'm lucky. However if people fancy a musical weekend in Whitby our annual fund raiser for the Runswick Bay Rescue Boat will take place on Friday 9th March at the Friendly Rowing Club in Whitby, see thread about to be posted Nick |

Can't wait! I could do with a new Mudcat t-shirt as my current one's getting a bit weary. Anyone bringing any along for sale this year?? |
