The remnants of Uxbridge Folk Club proudly present Coope Boyes and Simpson in concert at the Compass Theatre on Saturday February 3rd at 8.30.

The Compass is a cosy little theatre in Ickenham near Uxbridge conveniemtly located directly opposite Ickenham Tube Station which is on the Metropolitan and Picadilly lines and near to the M40/M25/A40.

Tickets are £9/£8 (conc) and can be booked through the Compass Box Office on 01895 673200 or www.compasstheatre.co.uk. Most major credit cards accepted. Licensed bar and tea/coffee available.

This is a rare London appearance for this renowned trio and it would be nice to see any local 'catters for a mini Mudgather.

Hope to see you there

Pete

I'll say hello to Lester, Nottingham and Derby as well! Enjoy your dinner Les and PM me a doggy bag please. Food is very expensive here in the South. A nice dripping butty would be welcome.

Yes, Uxbridge Folk Club does still exist although in a somewhat dormant form at the moment and it seems that the occasional concert is to be our forte in the future. Time will tell.

Will there be custard with the Spotted Dick? Drool, drool.

:-)

Hows that Golf Course then. Played there a couple of times.
Hows the traffic these days :-) Glad I don't have to do Bracknell/Rickmansworth (via Denham) anymore - it put years on my life :-)

Don't know about the golf course, not having a pet golf, but the traffic is still bad. My current record stands at 45 mins for the 3 miles from the centre of Uxbridge to home. Funnily enough I do the reverse of your journey Uxbridge/Bracknell via Iver Heath at weekends. Even using backroads it can be a nightmare.

Any news on the custard?

What has gone off, the custard or the traffic? Hope it's the traffic.

Hi Villan,

Golf course was OK last time I played it a couple of years back.

It won! But they always do!

I always end up right (litterally) at the bottom of the hill, when you drive towards the M25 on the 10th'ish. Out of bounds on the left.

Sorry to drag you all off the subject of golf (do I hear cries of thread re-creep?)but this musical soiree is now only a week away and tickets are going - not sure where - so if you are in the area and fancy a rollicking good night out for the price of about 3 pints of best (it is round this way) why not come along and say hello. I'm the fat one with a beard and no hair by the way, I wouldn't want you to confuse me with Mrs Johnston!!

Be nice to see you on Saturday George, hope you make it too.

Surely people don't still live in Uxbridge. Why isn't the folk club in the Gardeners Arms. Ickenham's a bit posh for a folk club although there used to be good music in the Coach and Horses a while back ( mid 60's )

I actually remembered to ring the Compass theatre today and book our tickets!

Zorg - Derek's got himself an Oyster card, so we're thinking of going by train. Does the bar sell anything worth not driving for?

See you Sat.

Pity I can't get there, I'm in the depths of Spain. Still,
best of luck with the event. Nice to see the club's still alive.

Thanks Kitty, glad you enjoyed it. Well, a full house means that Uxbridge FC lives to mount another in our series od occasional concerts (not to be confused with Les Barker's occasional table). Don't know who, when or where yet so watch this space or another very much like it.

Thanks are also due to Peter Slavid and Glen Johnston.

See you at the next one!!

If anyone's in the Uxbridge area and kicking themselves for missing CBS you won't have long to wait till they show their faces in Middlesex again....at Twickenham on April 1st!

A very enjoyable evening.

Thanks for the lift home, Kitty.
