I am looking to the lyrics to an old old song called Freckle Face. Some of the lyrics I recall are

"Freckle-face, freckle-face,
your face is a big disgrace.
You think you're a lot,
but you've only got
a freckle face"

and

"Go home and wash your face with Soapolio.:

Don't worry, it sounds bad but he gets the girl in the end.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Billboard had this to say in a review on May 26, 1956:

KING 4931 – Eight-year-old Joe Ward, longtimer on the "Juvenile Jury" TV show, again turns to disking with this tome [sic] to a freckley lady. Gal turns out to be "Mother," which gives a cute twist. The lad shows okay juvenile-styled showmanship and the disk could win some kiddie action. (Goday, BMI)

[* The last line of verse 2 makes no sense to me as written. Also, the sheet music doesn't say that she chose the freckle-faced boy. I guess you're supposed to infer that.

[I wonder if the recorded version—I assume there was one—was different.]

Jim, I don't know how you found that, but thanks! My grandma used to sing that to us when we were little and I thought the lyrics were lost forever. An odd song, but nice memories.
