Subject: Natalie Merchant - anything traditional? From: Joe Offer Date: 26 Jan 07 - 06:31 PM I thought I heard somewhere that Natalie Merchant had done recordings of some traditional songs. I looked through a partial discography and didn't see anything that looked familiar. Any comments, recommendations, explanations? I love her voice. -Joe- |

Subject: RE: Natalie Merchant - anything traditional? From: GUEST,Dale Date: 26 Jan 07 - 07:03 PM the single most traditional album would be The House Carpenter's Daughter. Other things scattered about here and there. Come Take A Trip In My Airship is definitely an oldie. 1904 to be precise. |

Subject: RE: Natalie Merchant - anything traditional? From: GUEST,Bob Coltman Date: 26 Jan 07 - 09:13 PM She also did "Just As The Tide Was Flowing" on, I think, the first 10,000 Maniacs album. No doubt she learned it from Peggy Seeger's version. Boib |
